Rich Fruit Cake

11/8 cups cake flour                           5eggs
2tsp Baking powder                           grated rind of 1 lemon
1tsp ground nutmeg                            1/2 cup ground almonds
1tsp ground mixed spice                     1tblsp treacle
1 cup margarine/butter (soft)              1cup each of currants,raisins and sultanas
1cup soft brown sugar                       sometimes I substitute sultanas or currants with dates
1/2 cup milk/instant coffee                  1/2 cup glace cherries

Sift flour,baking powder and spices into a large bowl.
Chop the cherries into quarters.Add all the ingredients to the flour and beat for about 4 minutes until completely mixed.
Put it into a greased and lined  9inches round pan.
Bake in a moderate oven at 350 F till when the toothpick inserted comes out clean (45mins-60mins).
Leave in the tin for 5 mins,then turn it out and cool.
